Christmas Eve – December 24, 2020

Note: The video linked above is the corrected version of the Christmas Eve video.

Dear Beloved Community of Christ,

As Christmas Day approaches on this darkest night of the year, in one of the darkest years many of us have ever lived through, I feel I want to offer as much spiritual light as I can.
I hope that our National/Churchwide Bishop Elizabeth Eaton’s Christmas message (found below) will bring some of that light to you and your family.

It is quite hopeful for me to have a woman as our bishop for the first time in our church’s long history. Just as the news of God’s love coming to us through the birth of a child was first announced to a woman who responded with faith and devotion to God, Bishop Elizabeth has offered her life in service to God and reminds us of Mary’s Song – The Magnificat – in this Christmas message.

Remember to set aside an hour to join in Christmas Eve worship and sing our familiar carols, hear the Christmas Story, receive a hopeful message from me, and light a candle of peace as we sing Silent Night, Holy Night. Just go to our website. You may also choose to attend the in-person, outdoor, Candlelight service in our parking lot at 3pm. Please bring your own chairs, wear a mask and practice physical distancing.

In the Hope and Light of the Love of God in Christ,
Pastor Jim
